Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using jsondb.cloud (the “Service”), operated by SIA Billy (Ulbrokas 23, Riga, Latvia), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

jsondb.cloud provides a cloud-hosted JSON database accessible via REST API. The Service allows you to store, retrieve, and manage JSON documents through API keys issued to your account.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your API keys and account credentials
  • All activity that occurs under your account
  • Ensuring that your use of the Service complies with applicable laws

You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store illegal content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' access
  • Exceed published rate limits or abuse free-tier resources

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

5. Free and Paid Tiers

The Service offers free and paid tiers with published usage limits. We reserve the right to modify tier limits with reasonable notice. Abuse of free-tier resources — including creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits — may result in account suspension.

6. Data and Security

All stored documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256 via SQLCipher. Data in transit is protected by HTTPS/TLS. While we take security seriously and implement industry-standard protections, you acknowledge that no system is completely immune to security risks.

You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your data. We recommend exporting critical data regularly.

7. Service Availability

We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SIA Billy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Riga, Latvia.
